NSW OPEN SPACE CONNECTIONS STRATEGY

Sustainable East was commissioned as part of a project team to deliver a list of options, grading all open space possibilities in NSW. The project identified new green links, new regional open space and ensuring there is more opportunities to connect open space contiguously to maximise wilderness corridors. The project applied detailed spatial analytics to identify new green space and is hosted as a Giraffe cloud web viewer.

SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS REGIONAL PRODUCE HUB

Sustainable East worked as the spatial and economic consultant to model the opportunities and feasibility of a regional produce hub in the Southern Highlands. The project identified required costs, growing area options and methods for ensuring more local food could be sourced by local businesses and reduce fixed costs such as logistics and marketing. The local food supply benefits were calculated and mapped and provide a benchmark for comparable regional areas in Australia.

A future directions of industrial precincts report has been commissioned by Parramatta City Council to understand how best three large contiguous industrial precincts fit into the future of Parramatta and the GPOP.  This report is aimed at getting deep into each precinct to understand how they function at a local level and how that should influence and be informed by broader strategic planning.
